Hold categories and what clears them
Reference1 min
In one sentenceA hold names one of six blockers; ticking every move makes the deal Ready, and Advance lifts the hold.
| Category | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Waiting on customer | The next move is theirs and you are waiting to hear back. |
| Budget / sign-off | The money or the approval has not been given yet. |
| No access to power | You are not talking to the person who can say yes. |
| Legal / procurement | Contracts, terms or a purchasing process are in the way. |
| On us | Something your side owes them is not done. |
| Pricing pushback | The price is the objection. |
The category is the label the deal carries in the Held band, on Blockers and in its history; the moves you name are what clear it. Ticking every move makes the deal read Ready and returns it to Commit, but it stays in Held until someone presses Advance - that lifts the hold and writes "Hold cleared" to the history. "Add another blocker" on a Ready deal puts it back to Held, and marking the deal lost removes the hold. A hold has no expiry date; it ages, and at your workspace's threshold Blockers marks it Escalated. See Put a deal on hold.
